Create More Space for Ironing

Visit your local carpet store to pick up a scrap of felt carpet pad, and bring it home for sizing to your new ironing surface. Cover the pad with white muslin or canvas to create a smooth ironing surface, and add straps or other fasteners to help hold it in place while it’s being used.
