TOM: Got tile with grout that’s grimy? With a couple of steps, you can bring back the sparkle for this season and others to come. Hi. I’m Tom Kraeutler.

TOM: The type of tile you have and the degree of grout discoloration determines the best approach to cleaning. With unglazed tile, always use a natural cleanser. But with glazed tile, you can use a stronger chemical application.
LESLIE: A paste made from baking soda and water easily freshens the look of tile’s grout. You want to apply it with a toothbrush and work in small areas so the baking soda doesn’t dissolve and lose its abrasiveness. Then, rinse with water once you’re done cleaning.
TOM: For more stubborn stains on your grout, use diluted bleach before resorting to chemical strippers.
LESLIE: And once your grout is clean and thoroughly dry, apply an epoxy or an acrylic grout sealer. It’ll block out the dirt and stains and keep your grout looking as sharp as the tile. I’m Leslie Segrete.
