TOM: Awnings over doors and windows cut cooling bills by as much as 15 percent and turning on lights to make up for lost sunlight doesn’t undo those savings. Electricity is much cheaper than air conditioning.
LESLIE: And as cooling bills go down, your style score goes up. Fabric awnings bring to mind the early 20th century country clubs and resorts where awnings first made their debut.

LESLIE: And whether high-tech or traditional, a sizable awning protects yards from the sun and the rain, adding more functional space to your property. I’m Leslie Segrete.
