TOM: Making your compost can reduce household waste and help green up your garden. Composting transforms organic material, like grass clippings, leaves, and even kitchen scraps, into rich, fertile soil for your garden all through the natural magic of decomposition.
LESLIE: To make your own compost, mix materials high in nitrogen and carbon with occasional moisture and plenty of oxygen. Think vegetable and fruit scraps, coffee grinds, sawdust, and even shredded paper.
TOM: Gather ingredients in a compost bin or tumbler and turn the mix frequently to speed up decomposition.
