Squeaky floors are great in haunted houses, but squeaks in your home are simply the result of wood rubbing against wood, or against flooring nails that have loosened. If you have access to your floor via a crawl space or basement, recruit an assistant to walk the floor and help pinpoint the squeaks. Under the squeak sites, gently tap a glue-coated shim in between the floor and the joist. This should silence those squeaks for good.
