TOM: Got some space now that the kids have shipped off to college? Make the most of your empty nest with an easy room conversion. Hi, I’m Tom Kraeutler.
LESLIE: And I’m Leslie Segrete with today’s Money Pit Home Improvement Minute.
TOM: If you have fewer chicks in the nest, that means extra space to be re-purposed. Whether it’s an empty bedroom or a little-used living area, a simple room makeover will make it useful once again.
LESLIE: Just think, you can create a bigger home office, a craft room or that home gym you’ve always wanted. And with a few high-end touches like tile flooring and soothing paint colors, that spare space can become a spa retreat.
TOM: And with most of these room makeovers, you can still include a day bed or pull-out sofa to accommodate the occasional guest.
LESLIE: And if the kids do return for an extended stay post-graduation, it will still be easy to convert your spare space back into a bedroom. I’m Leslie Segrete.
