TOM: Well, unless you live in a museum, your furniture is likely to take a few hits and dings. But with a few easy fixes, you can keep that furniture looking as great as the day it was delivered. Hi, I’m Tom Kraeutler.

TOM: Most superficial damage to wood furniture can be fixed in a snap. Make those white rings left behind by water vapor disappear by gently wiping with a cloth dampened with denatured alcohol.
LESLIE: Where clear finish is chipped, but the underlying color is intact, you can fill the ding with a few drops of clear nail polish. Once dry, sand the spot flush with a 600-grit sandpaper.
TOM: Felt-tipped touch-up markers work well for worn edges and scratches. Apply them only to the damaged areas and wipe immediately if any gets on the neighboring finish.
