TOM: With weather that’s not too hot and not too cold it’s truly the Goldilocks season for home improvements. Hi, I’m Tom Kraeutler.

TOM: As summer turns to fall, weather conditions make it just right to get outside and tackle the fair weather projects on your list.
LESLIE: Start by making outdoor foot traffic safer. Temperatures are perfect for repairing cracks to walkways or steps as well as securing loose rails before the slippery snow and ice show up in just a few months.
TOM: A last wave of lawn care should also be on your list. Before the ground freezes, fertilize your lawn and reseed any patchy areas. Mild fall temperatures will allow new grass to develop strong roots well before next summer’s scorching temps.
LESLIE: Finally, add one layer of mulch to your garden. It’s going to protect your plantings, add organic matter to the soil, and hold in moisture. I’m Leslie Segrete.
