TOM: Hands-free faucets have become the norm in most commercial bathrooms, but they’re also a great option for your home as well. Hi, I’m Tom Kraeutler.

TOM: From cutting down on germs to saving water, hands-free faucets are an attractive and practical upgrade for kitchens as well as bathrooms.
LESLIE: And the technology is simple. When the sensor at the lip or the base of the faucet detects motion, a valve is pulled open and that lets the water flow out. When the motion disappears, so does the water. No plumbing reconfiguration is necessary and a simple battery pack is all that’s required to power the sensor.
TOM: Keep in mind that most touchless faucets dispense only warm water and they can take a little getting used to. But for all their benefits, consider starting with just one hands-free faucet and you’ll find out how well it works for your home. I’m Tom Kraeutler.
