LESLIE: Ken in Georgia is looking to seal some concrete.
Ken, where is this concrete?
KEN: Garage. Plan on painting it with Rust-Oleum epoxy paint.
TOM: Yeah, EPOXYShield.
KEN: I just didn’t know whether I needed to seal the floor before I did it or …
LESLIE: That’s actually a great product.
TOM: No, the epoxy paint is all in one. It all comes in the kit. Actually, there is a cleaning solution that comes with that. You mix it up and you clean the floor first and it helps to etch the concrete. And then you mix the EPOXYShield together – it comes with a hardener – and then you put that down. There’s some little flakes that you can put in it; gives it some pattern, too. And it’s really good stuff, Ken. I really think it’s a great product, so you’re on the right track.
KEN: I’ve heard that this stuff is a little slick. Do you know anything about that?
TOM: Well, it’s going to give you a nice finish. You know, that’s what it’s supposed to do. And if you want something that’s a little more textured, then you probably ought to be looking at a different product.
KEN: I’m hoping there’s not going to be a water problem with it.
TOM: I don’t think it’s going to be slippery on water but, you know, if you’ve got that drippy oil pan from your car, then it could be an issue.
KEN: Alright, I do appreciate it.
TOM: You’re welcome, Ken. Thanks so much for calling The Money Pit.
