TOM: Before you power up for spring projects, plan for success and survival with a few power tool safety steps. Hi, I’m Tom Kraeutler.

TOM: Unsafe power tool use causes thousands of injuries each year. Prevent injuries by choosing the right tool for the job. Be sure to read and heed all instructions and warnings.
LESLIE: A well-planned project can save time, money, and even serious injury. Don’t rush or take shortcuts. Plan plenty of breaks to avoid fatigue.
TOM: Gear up with eye and ear protection. Power tool noise can easily exceed the hearing damage threshold. Flying debris can hurt both you and your project assistants.
LESLIE: Finally, work within your ability. Doing home improvement projects can help you save money, but the economics don’t work out if an emergency room visit becomes necessary. I’m Leslie Segrete.
