LESLIE: Rob in Colorado has a windy situation. I can hear it blowing already.
Rob, what kind of roofing …
ROB: Hi there.
LESLIE: Hi there. Tell us about your roofing situation.
ROB: I live north of Colorado Springs; kind of a high elevation out of the trees. And since I bought the house a couple years ago, I have been up on the roof replacing shingles two or three times a year.
TOM: Oh, man.
ROB: Yeah, we got high wind and we got hail every now and then. (Tom chuckles)
LESLIE: How fast are these winds are we talking about?
ROB: Sometimes 80, 90 miles an hour on like a [fast decade] (ph). (Leslie chuckles)
TOM: Well, we’ve got the shingles for you.
LESLIE: There is actually a product made exactly for just that; high winds in your area. And it’s called the WeatherGuard High Wind Roofing System and it’s from Owens Corning. And they’re actually shingles that are made to withstand up to 110-mile-an-hour winds.
ROB: Ah.
LESLIE: So it’s an entire system. You would have to replace your roof but I guarantee you, you won’t have to replace it again.
TOM: The adhesive that seals the shingles to each other, Rob, is very, very strong, so you don’t get that lift where the wind can get underneath the shingle itself and peel it up.
ROB: OK, I’ll certainly look into that.
LESLIE: Yeah, and they’re dimensional asphalt shingles, so they can look pretty much as anything like you want them to.
ROB: Alright, well that answers the question. I appreciate it.
TOM: You’re welcome, Rob. Thanks so much for calling us at 888-MONEY-PIT.
